Description of the course:

In this course we Identify and explain the fundamental social, cultural, economic, environmental, political and social characteristics of globalisation. We also explain and analyze the challenges and opportunities offered to the Arab Gulf states by globalisation.   We shall compare, contrast and evaluate the various ways Arab Gulf culture has responded to globalisation’s effect on cultural, national and regional identities. Students shall explain and defend ideas about globalization using reflective practices.

Finally, we want all of you to enjoy this course and to allow each of you an opportunity to explore how the role of the Arab Gulf in the global economy and society is important in your lives. We’ll make use of multimedia, and personal experiences and various sources in shaping this course. 

Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1- Identify and explain the fundamental social, cultural, economic, environmental, political and social characteristics of globalisation.
CLO 2- Identify, explain and analyze the challenges and opportunities offered to the Arab Gulf states by globalisation.
CLO 3- Compare, contrast and evaluate the various ways Arab Gulf culture has responded to globalisation’s effect on cultural, national and regional identities.
CLO 4- Explain and defend your ideas to the instructor and classmates using reflective practices
